About me

I enjoy working at the intersection of strategy, technology, innovation, and organizational development. As an entrepreneurial leader, organizational architect, and advisor, I have experience guiding complex transitions and building structures that work. My background as a researcher, author, and speaker helps me connect insights from academia and practice and translate them into concrete solutions. I am curious, analytical, and simultaneously pragmatic: always looking for the patterns that provide direction as well as the people who make the difference. It is from this combination that I move organizations forward.

Short CV

2022 - 2025

Royal Heijmans NV
Director of Digitalization in Housing Construction

I shifted Residential Construction from a project-oriented to a more product-oriented way of thinking and doing. This made industrialization strategically applicable, increased manufacturability, and accelerated engineering processes. This product logic laid the foundation for standardizing material flows and reducing the material footprint.

2019 - 2022

FME
Program Manager Smart Industry & AI

I worked on public-private initiatives that increase the innovative capacity of the Netherlands. In addition to technology, we also embedded organizational and process development in the approach. And we ensured structural attention to skills, so that innovation truly takes hold.

2011 - 2019

Founder & CEO

AvilyZ, Team Up, Teamwise

As founder/CEO, I built a SaaS startup and held ultimate responsibility for the product, partners, and funding. Entrepreneurship taught me how to make decisions under uncertainty, scale wisely, and rebuild after setbacks. Making something out of nothing—from idea to product and users—is in my nature.

2012 - 2025

Ph.D.
Tilburg University

Doctoral research into ASML's innovation capabilities: how to structure organizations to remain agile and learning. A broad perspective on literature and empiricism: what worked (and didn't) elsewhere, so we don't unnecessarily reinvent the wheel. Clear theory as a practical compass for sharp decisions in uncertainty.

What makes my perspective and approach stand out?

Systems thinking and acting

I look beyond superficial improvements and dig deeper to enable structural change. In doing so, I strive to combine three systems perspectives: systems engineering (value, components, and connections), system dynamics (patterns and feedback loops), and a systemic constellation approach (undercurrents and natural relationships). This allows me to understand processes, beliefs, and interests in their interconnectedness before helping to transform them in a targeted manner.

Intersection of sociology and technology

I feel at home in technical environments where complex software and hardware come together and process-related challenges are significant. But, as Steve Jobs said: “It’s technology married with liberal arts, married with the humanities, that yields us the results that make our heart sing.” The magic lies at the intersection of sociology and technology: what does technology do to people, and how do you keep an eye on the human side of innovation? I seek the essential conversation about impact and ensure a balance between the human scale and sustainable productivity.

Drive, energy and infectiousness

I only commit to people and missions I truly believe in. Because when I dedicate myself to something, I do it wholeheartedly – half-hearted work does not exist for me. My energy and enthusiasm bring momentum and infectiousness, sometimes even challenging conversations, but always with the goal of shaking up the status quo. I go beyond a plan on paper: I ensure that people and teams truly get to work and make the mission their own. I make room, flip the tracks, and help you set a course towards a new horizon. And I only let go when I am certain that it will continue in good hands.
